I was first a writer.

Oct. 2017 – The Eagle
Achievements: My first story to be published, a trial-and-error run for the interview and editing process.

Mar. 2018 – The Eagle
Achievements: Honorable Mention for a Feature Story at NCSMI 2018, my first review-type story.

Oct. 2020 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: Received a shoutout in the DTH newsletter.

Jan. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: Another byline in print, and one that I am proud of.

Mar. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: A time-sensitive story that I’m proud of my research for and my writing for.

May 2019 – The Eagle
Achievements: A sports sample.

Oct. 2019 – The Eagle
Achievements: Silver Award – Scholastic Art and Writing Awards 2020, my first story as Editor-in-Chief.


Jan. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: Publication on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library blog.

Apr. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: This story had a quick turn-around time, but a great reward – a second page byline in print, a feature in the DTH newsletter, and a lot of attention on Twitter.

Apr. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: Another print byline, and my first coverage of a holiday, especially during COVID.

May 2019 – The Eagle
Achievements: An article I wrote that we published at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.

Dec. 2019 – The Eagle
Achievements: My first editorial, and my favorite story that I have written.

Sept. 2020 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: My first front page story for DTH, my first byline in DTH, as well as my first story for DTH.

Feb. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: This was a book preview and I’m especially proud of the sources I involved, plus it was another print byline.

Mar. 2021 – The Daily Tar Heel
Achievements: A feature on a group at my school that I felt has been one of my best pieces recently.
